And now it's my turn to express myself.
I never thought I would have my say.
You broke ev'ry dream that I ever shared;
You took ev'ry reason that I cared.

Torn all to shreds, why should I cry?
Would it undo the secrets and the lies?
Would it bring back the innocence you killed?
Would it make me believe I can rebuild?

From the ashes, this phoenix will rise.
In these embers, there's a fire that won't die.
And from the flames, I will fly once again,
And you'll feel the blaze and know you did not win.

I'll never forget what you put me through
When you sent those demons into view.
The conflict resolves in my hands.
The time has come to take a stand.

Now I'm wise for the wear and can move on,
And that meek little girl I was is gone.
And the scars cannot stop this will so, so strong,
For I suffered in silence way too long.

From the ashes, this phoenix will rise.
In these embers, there's a fire that won't die.
And from the flames, I will fly once again,
And you'll feel the blaze and know you did not win.

The trail of tears that you left here will never fade,
And there will be a day when you'll pay for all that you betrayed.
And you'll see my fiery wings and know I'm not afraid anymore.

From the ashes, this phoenix will rise.
In these embers, there's a fire that won't die.
And you will see that I am flying again,
And you'll feel the blaze and know you did not win.
You did not win.
